It must have been 2001 when we met at Watkins Mill. I don't think it took long to know that we were going to be good friends, we just clicked. I can't quite remember how we met, but I feel like it had something to do with anime. It's funny, I have scattered memories of our time together, like being 16 and picking you up in my 92' Celica where you introduced me to Daft Punk (I still listened to them today). Or like when we were probably 18 and going to a hookah bar late night in college park. I think we musta been 19-ish when I visited you at Temple in PA. Pretty sure we went to the movies and watched a horror flick. Don't remember the movie, but I remember the crowd in that theater was on a whole other level! These memories are prescious to me. You are precious to me, and I miss you.

Gen was the first friend I had when I started working at Stuzo in Philly. She brought me flowers on National Admin day and baked me a funfetti cake on my birthday. I think the two of us ate the whole thing. When my old boss told me she died I really had no words. It's been a few years now but I vividly remember going to Prohibition Taproom after work to talk about life and splitting a Lindemans Framboise with her. I always saw her in my mind as this brilliant, strong little flame lit in a big black space - I'm not sure why. She was genuine in ways that most people are too afraid to be. For that, I will always thank her. Hope you're resting easy now.

I only just learned of your passing, Genevieve. I'm very sorry you're gone, but I'm happy I have plenty of memories with you.
